ITS Introduces Two-Factor Authentication

Information Technology Services has launched a new security measure for all USC faculty and staff to protect access to USC accounts, such as Workday, Trojan Time, Blackboard, the Kuali Financial System, MyUSC, and more.

Faculty and staff members may now enable two-factor authentication for all the services accessed through the USC NetID sign-in process. Two-factor authentication allows users to confirm their identity via a mobile device or desktop phone each time that they log into their USC account. This additional measure improves the security of personal information by ensuring that no one else but the account holder will be able to log into an account, even if the password is compromised.

For more information about how two-factor authentication works or to opt into the program, visit itservices.usc.edu/duo. The opt-in process is simple and takes less than ten minutes to complete.
