Mandatory Use of Two-Factor Authentication for All Staff

Beginning on December 1, 2015, all USC staff will be required to use USC’s Duo two-factor authentication when logging into systems that contain restricted or sensitive information. These include the systems that you currently access via your USC NetID credentials, including Workday, the Kuali Financial System, Blackboard, MyUSC portal, and others. Duo will not be required for Office 365 email at this time.

Two-factor authentication allows users to confirm their identity via a mobile device each time that they log into their USC account. (Other options are available to users without mobile devices.) This additional measure improves the security of personal information by ensuring that no one else but the account holder will be able to log into an account, even if the password is compromised.

All USC staff must enroll in Duo two-factor authentication between now and December 1, 2015. To enroll in the program, visit the Duo Two-Factor Authentication page. The enrollment process is simple and takes less than ten minutes to complete.
