High-Performance Computing and Communications
The deputy chief information officer (CIO) and executive director for high-performance computing and communications will serve as a leader and advocate for advancing and supporting the research and high-performance computing and communications (HPCC) needs of the university. The deputy CIO for HPCC will oversee the operations of the high-performance computing center; the university's central research computing facilities; services, support and operation of Los Nettos, a Los Angeles-area network providing redundant connection to the Internet; and overseeing the Los Nettos colocation facility. The Deputy CIO will develop and maintain a university-wide strategic plan for research computing, as well as convene and chair the university's research computing advisory committee.
