As assistant chief information officer for business strategy and applications at USC, Lucy Avetisyan is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for key applications and services in support of university-wide business processes and requirements. Lucy and her team partner with administrators, schools, business units,and other academic support organizations to provide campus-wide services, user support, training, and improve alignment and communication of ITS systems.
Lucy leads the USC Administrative Systems Initiative, where she overseas the production and maturation of major enterprise initiatives. In addition, her team is driving two new enterprise-wide initiatives to implement service management and content management solutions.
Lucy has over 16 years of experience in the information technology field, including leading large system development projects, strategic planning, vendor management, contract management, financial management, quality management, change management, systems development and design.
Lucy has served USC since 1998. Most recently, she served as a senior project manager for ITS, in which capacity she created and drove the work plan execution for the key deliverables, milestones, and resource management of multimillion-dollar projects.
Lucy is a member of the Kuali Financial System Board. She is also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and PMI’s Los Angeles Chapter.
She holds bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism from USC and an MBA from USC as well. In addition, she is a PMI certified project manager.
